Christmas Cookies
German Christmas Cookies
| 3 cups | flour |
| 4 | eggs (beaten) |
| 2 cups | brown sugar |
| 1 cup | clear corn syrup |
| 1/4 cup | melted shortening |
| Beat above ingredients until blended well | |
| Mix ingredients below thoroughly and add to mix | |
| 1 cup | chopped nuts(pecans work) |
| 1/4 teaspoon | baking soda |
| 1/2 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 teaspoon | nutmeg |
| 1/2 teaspoon | allspice |
| 1/2 teaspoon | cinnamon |
Pour into 2 8x8 pan for thick cookies or
Pour into 13x9 pan for thinner cookies.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 mins.
Icing
1/2 stick of butter melted
add powdered sugar and vanilla to taste
Pour/spread onto cookies and garnish with
"nonpareils" sprinkles (tiny multi-colored balls)
Cut into squares, pour a big class of ice cold milk and enjoy!
